Fun Before Friday!

On Monday, we were supposed to have a movie night with the Buddy Network, but everyone cancelled except for me and Jo, so we 'postponed' the event. Bjarne made burgers, and they were excellent.

On Tuesday, we had a meeting about the DIS Haunted House that we're volunteering for on Friday for Kulturnatten (Culture Night). It's about 600 events in places all around Copenhagen and the greater Copenhagen area. Taylor and I are going to dress up as killer clowns and Jo is a fortune teller. We ate the homemade pizza that Jo made for movie night after the meeting.

On Wednesday, I didn't have anything to do. I stayed home and worked on some homework until 5:30pm when I had a meeting about my upcoming study tour to Budapest and Vienna. It only took a half hour and everything that was said could have been said through email. That trip is going to be amazing, though.

On Thursday, I stayed at DIS after class and waited for Taylor so we could go help to set up the haunted house together. We got there around 5:30pm and by 6:15pm the guy in charge was ready to call it a night. I think he had been there all day with bunches of different volunteers helping.

After that, Jo, Taylor, a new buddy named Anna and I went to dinner at Rizraz and we ate a vegetarian buffet with falafel, rice, veggies, lasagna, and delicious sauces like hummus and garlic dip.

Then Taylor and Anna left but Jo was going to Copenhagen University to listen to a jam session, so I went with her. We had a couple beers and watched as the crowd got progressively drunker how they got closer to the stage and started dancing. It was kind of like kareoke in that anyone who signed up could perform, but there was a main band, too. There was a guy who did an old Danish rap and some girls who were great and an acapella quartet who did some barber shop stuff and "Man of Constant Sorrow". It was GREAT! It was seriously so much more fun than being at a normal bar scene.

Also, CSS (the part of the university where we were) was gorgeous. It was a gorgeous building and they have a gorgeous library/reading room, and it all used to be a hospital/mental institution so of course I love it. I also met some of Jo's friends and they all speak English well so they spoke English so I could understand what they were saying.

Today is Friday, and I'm going to go experience Culture Night in a few hours because volunteers get free passes.

Then I will go dress up as a clown and scare the crap out of children.

Finally, all the volunteers will go out after and experience Culture Night by night. Ha. There is going to be an insane number of people in town tonight.
