Ma and Gramma 2

Saturday

What was not great about today was that I forgot my camera so there is no proof that anything happened.

We went to Kronborg Slot in Helsingor and toured the dark, dark dungeons and the brighter palace. The cobblestones beneath the castle were huge and treacherous and hard to manuever in the dark, thankfully there were many older people there so we moved slowly and they all had their phone lights on.

And gramma bought me some cute pearl earrings! Thanks, gramma!

We had lunch at this cafe in town, and boy was it a cute town, and I had wienerschnitzel and a hard cider.

It was raining all day.

Sunday

We went to mass at the Church of Our Savior at 10:30am and it went until noon. There were a couple baptisms in there somewhere, and a lot of singing in Danish. I was starting to fall asleep near the end, but it was one of the most beautiful churches I've ever seen.

Then we went to Christiansborg Slot, and we walked up the king's staircase, feeling like queens.

There were a billion beautiful tapestries, and I was contemplating stealing a few for my apartment to keep the walls warm.

And what's a palace without a throne room? Too bad we don't use them very much, I would love to sit there sometimes.

Christiansborg is right next to the canals so it has a more modern but still great view.

The library was AMAZING! When I have my palace I will definitely have a library room with a balcony level.

What this room really needs are a few comfy couches for reading. No one wants to read in those chairs.

And of course, the dining room to seat 50. When I have a dining room that big, I will have parties every week. I will not be cooking, however.

Too bad everything in Denmark is under construction/restoration because it's really ruining my photos.

Next, we visited the royal stables and we had a nice conversation with a horse. He wanted to bite me but I wanted to pet him.

Then, as we left, we walked across this beautiful bridge with a beautiful view and ended up at...

... the National Museum!

It has a ton of exhibits, so even though I'd already been there, I was still seeing new things. Like crowns...jewels...Renaissance stuff...

...old stuff...like this book that looks like how I want my biography to look...

... and tons more.

Right across the street from that is the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek. And it was free on Sundays! Today was Sunday!

So we went into the palm house and sat down at the cafe.

We always ended up drinking a midday coffee and eating a midday pastry.

Not that I'm upset about that...because it actually is something I would like every day.

So of course we ordered chocolate cake and coffee that came in personal teapots. That is just our thing now.

Then the museum was beginning to close, so we zoomed through the sculptures.

This one is my favorite; it's a naked person holding a head with hair made of snakes.

This guy was my second favorite because he was doing Beyonce's Single Ladies dance.

Then we went home and I napped for 2 hours.

Being much too tired to cook for dinner, we walked around and looked for a place to eat, but everywhere was closed except for the cafe next door.

So I got a hard cider.

And a tuna sandwich.

Monday

I thought today would be a good day to do souvenir shopping and to stroll down Stroget.

First, we stopped at the Round Tower.

We took a peek inside Trinity Church but didn't walk up the tower due to mom's fear of heights and gramma's preference of not walking that much.

Then we stopped in a cute store that sold things like home goods and tea.

I really want this stuff in my apartment/castle.

And then we did some souvenir shopping and we picked out some really great stuff for people.

Then it was lunchtime because I need to eat three meals per day or I will bite people's heads off.

We stopped at an Irish pub.

I got an Irish coffee and mom got an Irish cider.

And the three of us split two plates of fish 'n' chips.

And all was good in the world.

Later, we went to Christiania and mom was disappointed that it wasn't cleaner because the Danes usually keep everything up so well.

For dinner, we had more baked vegetables and omelets. I made the omelets and only one of them turned out like an omelet. We also had ciabatta bread toast, and it was all amazing.

We had raspberry sparkletini wine, too.

Tuesday

We woke up early, around 5am, and I took ma and gma to the airport. I checked the two of them in using a kiosk and then mom cried and we all hugged and stuff.

See you all in a month!

P.S.

We watched movies pretty much every night, so here are the ones I can remember.
  • Death at a Funeral
  • The Women on the 6th Floor
  • All Together
  • Friends with Kids
  • Waking Ned Divine
  • Our Idiot Brother
