Wednesday
Woo! Today I woke up around 8am so I could meet ma and gramma at the airport.
Here's our sweet apartment that we all stayed in together.
Ma brought me the rest of the Halloween candy.
Finally some candy for me!
Of course it was raining. The first thing we did was go to Nyhavn for some picturesque sights.
And of course we had to do a canal tour to learn a little about the city and its history.
We're photogenic. It was dark and grey. Classic Denmark.
It was all three of our first times seeing the Little Mermaid! And I couldn't get a very good picture because my camera doesn't zoom very far, and if we got off the canal boat, I think they'd leave without us because there was no other tour til the morning.
Then we had a fancy dinner at the cafe next door to our apartment.
Ma had croque monsieur, gramma had a burger, and I had some spicy penne.
We also had some beer, and ma and I both got a Christmas beer :)
Thursday
I had to do a Danish oral exam at 10am, so mom made me some good breakfast.
Then I skipped my other class and we all got on the train to Hillerod to see Frederiksborg Slot.
The grounds were beautiful, but it was cold and rainy so we stayed inside.
The ballroom I will model my home's ballroom after.
That dress will be what I'm wearing to greet guests at the extravagant balls I throw.
At 1:30, there was a small free organ concert in the chapel at Frederiksborg.
The organist played a few pieces, mostly of Renaissance dance music.
After that, we all had a midday snack of chocolate cake and coffee served in personal French presses.
And then, after the train back home, I made baked vegetables in seasoned butter and heated up some meatballs for dinner.
Friday
I had class at 10am again, but I also had another delicious breakfast.

Today was kind of stressful because I had to finish a paper by midnight, but I wasn't very close to being done.
We went to the botanical gardens after class.
It's just like when ma and I went to the arboretum in MN before I left for Denmark.
Gramma had to stop to rest a lot. I don't think I've ever walked so slowly on purpose in my life, haha.
Then we went to Rosenborg Slot. The treasury was open, but the castle was closed.
Unlike in London when I secretly took photos of the crown jewels and almost got my camera taken away, I decided not to bring my camera in the treasury with me.
They were amazing, though.
I will wear jewels like that when I throw balls in my ballroom.
I had been here with Taylor in the gardens, but this was on the other side of the moat, so it was very different.
Then we had dinner at Bjarne and Linda's. We bought them a bottle of red wine, like classy guests.
Linda made an apple oat whipped cream cake dessert, and we had Christmas pork for dinner with baked veggies.
And then we got home kind of late, and I didn't finish my paper to my normal standards.
Like I only used 3 outside sources instead of 5 and the length wasn't enough.
So basically I already know most of the feedback I'd get on it but it's my fault for not finishing the paper before ma and gma got here like I planned to, haha.
Oh well, you're only on study abroad once and your family only visits once.
